first time
1. Read the title, abstract and introduction of the article
2. Read the headings and subheadings of each section
3. Read the summary
4. Browse the references to see if there are any articles you have read before
After completing the first pass, it should be done:
1. be able to name the type of the paper
2. be able to say what the general content of an article relates to and what problem it solves based on what theory
3. whether all the assumptions in the article are correct and valid
4. What is the main contribution of the article
5. whether the article is written clearly enough
The first reading is usually used to sift through the papers that interest you, and you can do this superficially for articles that are not in your area of specialization.
second time
1. look at the charts and graphs of the paper and see if the various indicators are correct and meaningful
2. Marking relevant unread literature for further study
3. Mark more when reading
4. Browse the references to see if there are any articles you have read before
After completing the second time, it should be done:
1. state the main work of the paper and be able to give citations
third time
The key to the third pass is to virtually reconstruct the entire project in your mind from the creator's point of view, remaining skeptical of every sentence in the thesis, and corroborating your own thoughts under these conditions with the thesis ideas. In this way, not only will you be able to understand the thesis in depth, but you will also be able to discover the hidden flaws and assumptions in the thesis.
