Hi everyone, I'm programmer Fishskin.
I believe that many of my friends have encountered the situation of losing work, or forgetting things, especially when there are many things to do, it is easier to miss; and if you miss a certain task at work, and you need to be repeatedly reminded by your superiors or coworkers, it is very much affecting other people's impression of you.
So how do you solve this problem? I have some experience of my own.
Like myself from the university period is very busy, learning, projects, competitions, clubs, running around every day; after graduation in the goose factory work, while responsible for multiple projects and modules, also led to deal with multiple needs and tasks at the same time; and then to start their own company entrepreneurship, every day to deal with even more things, business cooperation, team management, product design, student Q&A, tutorials, development and coding, media! And so on, there are a variety of WeChat messages. If you are not careful, you may miss something.
Over time, I've figured out a way to manage my work that works for me, and this post will give my friends a chance to chat about how I manage my personal work matters. It may not apply to everyone, but maybe it will help you?
Methods of work management of fish skins
First of all, do not rely on the "human brain" to keep track of things, like I sometimes go out of my office, there will be several colleagues looking for me to confirm a variety of matters, I may go out to get a glass of water back to forget some of them. So it is inevitable to have their own matter recording tools.
What tools do people use to keep track of work matters?
Like I used to use a tick list, similar to an advanced memo, but then I stopped using it because it's still not convenient enough to have to open additional software. Now, my most commonly used temporary recording tool is exactly the software we use every day -- WeChat. My work WeChat, file transfer assistant is always on top, I'm not in front of the computer, as long as I think of or received some work matters, will be sent to the file transfer assistant, and then marked as unread, and then every time you open WeChat, there will be an eye-catching red dot reminder.
If I receive a work message that I can't deal with at the moment, I will mark it as unread and put it on top of the chat to remind myself to deal with it later. It's not uncommon for people to have read messages that they don't respond to, but it's possible that the other person just can't respond at the moment, or doesn't think of a way to respond to the message.
Since I usually work with so many messages, it's impossible for me to reply to any message very quickly, that way I can't be quiet and do a good job at all. But I go through the "red dots" in WeChat / Enterprise WeChat every day before I go to bed to make sure I haven't missed any messages, and that's probably one of the main reasons for my irregular sleep schedule.
In addition to using WeChat to record temporary work messages, you definitely need a more systematic tool to record daily work matters. The tool I use is Tencent Document's online Excel form, which on the one hand can be opened directly in Enterprise Micro or in the browser, and on the other hand, the online Excel form is now very flexible, making it easy to record and group information according to one's own needs, and so on.
For example, I am grouped by the date of each day and record information such as work items, notes, related documents, work progress, and so on. If I can't finish a job on a certain day, I just need to change the date to the next day; if I am worried that I will forget a job afterward, I just need to record it in the form in advance. By going through the work record form once a day, it's not easy to miss out on work, easier to organize your time, and you can also do a review of your past by checking your records.
Below is an example of my work log sheet:
Like after I led the team, there is another habit, at the end of each week in advance of the next week's overall individual and team plan, easy to prepare in advance, better control the progress, so that the work in order, rather than the mid-week temporary change in demand.
ultimate
Maybe some friends will think: do everything plan, their lives are trapped in the Excel worksheet, really tired ah!
I would say: yeah, it does get tiring. But once I got into the habit of keeping track and making plans, I was less confused and more purposeful in what I did, knew what to do next, and didn't worry about procrastinating. And looking at my work record sheet filled with "100%" progress, the sense of accomplishment is overwhelming! You can really try it~
