NET MAUI is an evolutionary version of .NET MAUI that adds support for building desktop applications. NET MAUI features include a unified framework, support for desktop applications, performance improvements, use of modern technologies, and open source features. Other highlights of the open source .NET MAUI (Multi-Platform Application UI) include:

  • Harmonized framework:NET MAUI unifies APIs for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows into a single framework, enabling developers to create cross-platform apps using a single codebase
  • Desktop Support:NET MAUI will extend support to desktop applications, enabling developers to build native apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, as opposed to the primary focus on mobile platforms.
  • Improved performance:NET MAUI is designed with performance improvements, including faster UI rendering and a more efficient control architecture.
  • Modern technology:It utilizes the latest .NET technologies (e.g. .NET 6 and higher) to provide a consistent development experience across platforms
  • Open Source:NET MAUI is open source and encourages community contributions and collaboration

Syncfusion is a leader in the field of UI controls and components and has provided some impressive controls for . "So in .NET 9, we've partnered with Syncfusion to develop a new project template that includes the Syncfusion Toolkit for .NET MAUI as well as these very popular community toolkits. This application demonstrates recommended practices for using the MVVM pattern, database access using SQLite, navigation, view refresh, and many other common patterns that applications need to adopt.
