Background:Recently my colleague refreshed sandbox and found that clicking create does not take effect and there is no prompt (may be optimized later).
Older drivers who are used to creating or refreshing sandboxes directly may not be able to see the Sandbox Access red tip, and it just so happens that the current org doesn't use groups yet, so I mentioned the case, and the response I got was that for the Developer and Developer Pro sandboxes, the latest release requires you to select group The answer I got was that for Developer and Developer Pro sandboxes, the latest release needs to select a group to be created, and only people in that group can use the current sandbox.
The steps are simple.
1. setup Search for a group and create a group. The user selected for the group needs to be a user who has access to the current sandbox.
2. sandbox new or refresh the last step to select the desired group can be.
Question: Does this change affect me much? This needs to be determined by your current sandbox type and what you are doing, the biggest change is actually for the developer / developer pro inter-centric sandbox, here is the at a glance chart.
Sandbox Operation Type | Accessing Sandbox's User Groups | Who has access to Sandbox | note |
Create(Partial / Full sandbox) | All User | Same as production user | Partial and full sandboxes do not strictly require a group to be created, so you can choose the All User option, which is the same as before the update. |
Create (all types) | User Group | User Group | When creating a sandbox and selecting a user group, only these users will be active by default, while other users will be deactive by default. |
Refresh | Same as production user | For the dev and dev pro sandbox, even though we chose the specified group, people with production access can also access the sandbox after a refresh |
Summary:The article mainly introduces the latest release in the sandbox creation and refresh changes, although the official Sandbox Access marked in red, but the error message front-end error caused by the UI does not show or not very friendly, I believe that will soon be repaired. In response to this change, in fact, for developers limited impact, if the same situation encountered partners can be used as a quick reference.
